/ Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless CanonRumors has released a new rumor that Canon is coming out with an APS-C camera tailored to vloggers. They were told that it's similar to the M6 Mark II (so I would imagine no EVF) and features a new type of articulating LCD. It would seem strange to see a new type of LCD on this camera since Canon's usual fully articulating LCD is most suited for video, versus photography. An LCD that flips up (similar to the ... BY SPENCER COX A few times a year, Nikon tends to go wild and put nearly all their current products on sale. Now is one of those times, with a big sale that lasts until May 29. Which deals are worthwhile and which ones are duds? I’ll go through each product one by one below. One thing to keep in mind is that every deal is a good deal if you were already planning to buy the lens or camera at full price. When I call something a bad deal, it doesn’t mean you should avoid the product, just that I wish Nikon had given a steeper discount. Table of Contents |

If you're looking for a new DSLR camera then these are some of the best options out there from Canon, Nikon and Sony Most of us are happy to use our smartphones for day-to-day photography but if you want something a bit more substantial then you're going to need a dedicated camera. The good news is that a decent camera will last you for quite a few years - but the bad news is that it can be tough to know where to start. Either you're going to want to go whole-hog and pick up a DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex) or you'll be happy with a smaller point-and-shoot. The real thing to look for is interchangeable lenses because these will give you the best shot. Even if you don't want to deep dive into settings like ISO or White Balance, thes ... Read more » |

Nurture the budding photographer in your family with these kid-friendly cameras available to buy nowBrijiena LovelaceIt's never too early to nurture your child's creativity, after all it could end up being a career path or a lifelong hobby of theirs. Nowadays, photography is simpler than ever thanks to smartphones, but for younger kids who may not have access to a smartphone a traditional camera is just as good, if not better. When choosing the best camera for your smaller children or teenagers there's a few things to firstly consider. You'll want to find something that isn't too technical, with too many adjustments to possibly confuse them. You'll also want to ensure the camera isn't too bulky and nice and simple to carry around with them. Many of the cameras out today even have instant printing abilities, like ... Read more » |

BY JASON POLAK Quick question: what’s more complicated, buying a house or getting married? Answer: neither, it’s buying a camera! That’s right, and I wrote this guide because if you don’t go about it right, then one day you’ll realize you’ve made a horrible mistake and you’ll give up photography. Okay, that could be an exaggeration. The truth is, buying a camera is quite easy once you know a few essential details. What to Look for in a CameraPeople say all cameras are good these days, and that’s definitely more true than it’s ever been. Pretty much any camera made in the last few years can produce amazing pictures, and if you had to use a random camera, chances are you could make it work. |

BY SPENCER COX I remember when I was starting out in photography how I looked upon the Nikon D3X in wonder. I could never afford it, but 24 megapixels! Can you imagine? Of course, some medium format cameras at the time had more, but they were as far away from me as the moon. Now 24 megapixels is the baseline instead of an expensive maximum. 45, 60, and even 100 megapixels are within reach at lower prices than ever, and the trend isn’t really slowing down. Even so, for 99% of photographers, pixel counts are high enough at this point. Maybe they have been for a while. As Jason recently wrote, a 50 megapixel camera is capable of about a 32×48” print (AKA 1.2 meters wide) without apparent pixelation for a typical viewe ... Read more » |

Each year, we take a look at the data and rentals we were able to provide for our customer base and use it to get some perspective on where the industry might be heading. Certainly, this year was a different one, with the pandemic putting many stops to the industry and the jobs available – but we still were able to rent out thousands of piece of gear each month, to help other create their vision. While much of the event photography space was stopped in its wake, there was still a substantial amount of gear rented fo ... Read more » |
