Sony’s a7 III features a new 24-megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with up to 15 stops of dynamic range. As for autofocusing, 93 percent of the frame is covered by AF points, and there are a lot of them: 425 contrast AF points and 693 focal plane phase detect AF points. According to Sony, both low light focusing speed and tracking speed have been doubled compared to the prior model.
