In addition to the release of its new “high performance” ‘X-H1’ mirrorless camera, FUJIFILM has unveiled several new products for its 2018 range.

FUJINON MKX18-55mmT2.9 & FUJINON MKX50-135mmT2.9

FUJIFILM is introducing its first full manual cinema lenses, compatible with interchangable lenses for its X series digital cameras.

Launching locally in June 2018, the FUJINON MKX18-55mmT2.9 and FUJINON MKX50-135mmT2.9 are aimed at professional videographers.

Both lenses claim to deliver high optical performance, with “comfortable” operation, and are equipped with enhanced focus and zoom mechanisms.

The new MKX lenses use electrical contact to communicate with the camera, said to correct distortion & colour shading, in conjunction with FUJIFILM’s Film Simulation modes.

Considered the most frequently used focal length in video production, both MKX lenses cover 18-135mm and achieve a constant T2.9 aperture across its entire zoom range.

Both lenses feature three rings to facilitate manual and independent operation of focus, zoom and aperture via its gear pitch of 0.08M (module). Focus rings can rotate a full 200-degrees for precise shooting.

FUJIFILM X-A5

The new FUJIFILM X-A5 is scheduled to land in Australia in February 2018 for RRP A$8999.

FUJIFILM claims to X-A5 is the company’s “smallest and lightest” mirrorless digital camera in its X series.

The X-A5 comes with the new FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens, and together weighs just 496 grams.

As such, the “retro” designed camera comes in at 496 grams – thereby the lightest camera-zoom kits lens combo in the X series range.

The X-A5 features a 24.2 megapixel APS-C sensor, coupled with its X Series signature colour reproduction technology.

New features such as 4K movie recording, Bluetooth pairing, a touchscreen and enhanced zoom lens are also deployed.

ISO sensitivity has also been extended to ISO 12800.

The X-A5 is also FUJIFILM’s first X-A series device to feature phase detection pixels – an aspect originally designed for its X series “high-end” models.

The X-A5 is available in Brown, Silver and Pink.

FUJIFILM XP130

FUJIFILM’s XP130 is the company’s latest “tough camera” within its XP series.

The XP120 is scheduled to land in Australia in February 2018 for RRP A$299.

This durable camera features dust and water (to 20m) resistance, and is shockproof to 1.75 metres, and can operate in temperatures of -10C.

The camera features a 16.4 megapixel back illuminated CMOS sensor, with a 5x optical zoom lens (zoom range starting from 28mm/35mm format equivalent) on the wide-angle side. Using FUJIFILM’s Intelligent Digital Zoom technology, optical zoom range can be double to 10x.

The XP130 will be available in White, Dark Silver, Yellow, Sky Blue and Lime.

GFX 50S and X-T20

In addition to new products, FUJIFILM is rolling out free firmware updates for its GFX50S and X-T20 devices.
